The global number of rocket launches is increasing and has reached record highs. Creating safe and controlled departure conditions is an essential responsibility of spaceports all over the world. *Wind, Wind Shear, Gusts* In the initial phase of its journey, the rocket is subject to interactions with atmospheric winds. Mean wind, wind shear and gusts all have different but adverse effects on the rocket’s path and its ability of a controlled rise. Especially near the ground where the air density is high and rocket speed is low, it must be ensured that wind conditions are within the safe limits. *Multiple Profiler Approach* Scintec wind profilers are used to monitor the wind conditions from ground level up to the lower stratosphere and provide the confidence needed for the success of the rocket mission. For best coverage, several types of wind profilers are operated simultaneously with typically sodar wind profilers covering the lowest 150 m, boundary layer wind profilers covering the lowest 1,500 m and a tropospheric wind profiler reaching up to larger altitudes. When it comes to measurements in the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere, customized units are supplied. Rocket launches are costly and most of the time have critical missions.
